Technical Methodology & Engineering Principles
GOVERNING EQUATION
Oxygen demand = biomass Γ specific oxygen-consumption rate; air flow = demand / (0.232 Γ air density Γ transfer efficiency).
Assumptions & Scope
Air contains 23.2% oxygen by mass and has density 1.2 kg/mΒ³. The entered transfer efficiency must represent installed conditions; background water demand and peak stress loads are excluded.
Operating Range & Boundary
Biomass and consumption rate must be non-negative; transfer efficiency must be greater than zero and no more than 100%.
