Lab-to-Plant Scale-Up Factor
Scale up volumetric flow rates and capacities from bench-scale (mL/min) to pilot or full plant scale (m³/hr).
OPERATING LIMITS — Flow ratio is not process scale-up; select and preserve the relevant similarity criteria.

GOVERNING EQUATION
Convert the bench flow to the selected plant-flow unit; scale factor = target plant flow / converted bench flow; bench daily volume = mL/min × 1440 / 1000.
Assumptions & Scope
This is a dimensional volumetric ratio, not a process-similarity model. Mixing, heat and mass transfer, residence-time distribution, reaction kinetics, geometry, and dimensionless similarity are excluded.
Operating Range & Boundary
Bench flow must be positive and target flow must be non-negative.
