Evaporation = circulation × range × 0.0018 per °C (0.001 per °F); blowdown = evaporation/(cycles − 1); makeup = evaporation + blowdown.
Assumptions & Scope
Rule-of-thumb evaporation factor with drift and other losses omitted. Cycles exceed one; chemistry, ambient psychrometrics, heat load, drift eliminator performance, and water treatment are not modeled.
Operating Range & Boundary
Circulation and temperature range must be non-negative; cycles of concentration must be greater than one.
